What is an Impact vs Effort matrix?

It's a 2x2 grid that plots tasks on two axes: Impact (value delivered) on the Y-axis and Effort (resources required) on the X-axis. This reveals which tasks are Quick Wins (high impact, low effort), Major Projects (high impact, high effort), Fill-Ins (low impact, low effort), and Thankless Tasks (low impact, high effort).

What defines a Quick Win?

A Quick Win is a task with high impact and low effort — something that delivers significant value without requiring much time, money, or resources. These should be your top priority because they offer the best return on investment.

How do I use the sliders to score tasks?

When adding a task, use the Impact slider (1-10) to rate how much value the task delivers and the Effort slider (1-10) to rate how many resources it requires. Higher impact = more value; higher effort = more resources consumed.

Can I plot many tasks at once?

Yes. Add as many tasks as you need — each appears as a dot on the scatter plot. Click any dot to see its details and zone classification. The more tasks you plot, the clearer your prioritization picture becomes.

How do I export my priority matrix?

Click the Export button in the task list panel to download a CSV file with all tasks, their impact/effort scores, and zone classifications. You can open this in any spreadsheet application.

Why should I focus on Quick Wins first?

Quick Wins build momentum, demonstrate results, and earn trust from stakeholders. Tackling them first creates positive reinforcement that makes tackling Major Projects easier. Conversely, starting with Thankless Tasks burns energy without visible progress, which can demotivate teams.
