Most maze makers only give you a plain rectangle. This one carves the maze to fit the outline you choose: a classic square grid, a round circle, a pointed triangle, or a diamond rhombus. Under the hood the generator masks the grid to the shape, then carves a perfect maze, one with a single, unambiguous path between the start and finish and no isolated pockets, only inside that outline. The start and finish are placed at the two farthest corners of the shape, so every variant stays a fair, fully solvable puzzle. Difficulty you can see, and a maze you can play

A live stats panel shows the real structure of each maze: the number of cells, the exact shortest-path length found by breadth-first search, how many dead ends there are, and an overall difficulty score from Gentle to Brutal. Want to try it yourself? Turn on Play mode and drag from the green start to the red finish, the tool times you, detects when you reach the exit, and tells you how your route compares to the perfect path. Because everything runs in your browser, nothing is ever uploaded and a fresh puzzle is only a click away.

Answer keys, seeds, and printable packs

Need answers for grading? Toggle the solution overlay to draw the exact shortest path, then hide it for the version you hand out. Every maze is tied to a seed, so typing the same word, a name, a date, a lesson number, always regenerates the identical puzzle. When you need a whole set, the printable pack builds 2-20 mazes followed by a matching answer-key section in a single PDF, ready for a worksheet packet or a puzzle book. Can I solve the maze on screen?

Yes. Turn on Play mode and drag from the green start to the red finish. The tool times you, detects when you finish, and compares your route to the shortest possible path.

What are the three maze styles?

Winding uses a recursive backtracker for long twisting corridors; branchy uses Prim's algorithm for many short junctions; looping (braided) removes most dead ends so there are several routes and an easier solve.

Can I see the solution or print an answer key?
