Fake iMessage and SMS Conversations
The iMessage style copies iOS: the centred avatar header with the unread count on the back button, grey received bubbles, blue sent bubbles with the curled tail on the last bubble of each run, and "Read 9:41 AM" under your latest message. Switch to SMS for green bubbles, the "Text Message" field and "Delivered" receipts. Tapbacks sit on the top corner of a bubble, replies show the quoted message above, and "Edited" appears in blue under an edited message. Group chats show each sender's name above their bubbles and their avatar beside the last one.
WhatsApp chats use the doodle wallpaper, the encryption notice, date chips, and the top-corner tail on the first bubble of each run. Each message can be set to sending (clock), sent (one grey tick), delivered (two grey ticks) or read (two blue ticks). Voice notes show the sender's photo and a waveform, deleted messages read "This message was deleted", and group messages show coloured sender names inside the bubble. Telegram uses its green gradient pattern, times with checks inside the bubble, and reaction chips inside the bubble. On iPhone it shows the centred title with the photo on the right, and on Android the blue top bar.
Instagram, Messenger, Snapchat, Discord, X, Google Messages and Tinder
Instagram DMs use the gradient sent bubble, grouped corners, the "Active now" header and "Seen". Messenger shows the "Aa" bar, delivery circles and the seen avatar. Snapchat has no bubbles, just red and blue sender labels with coloured side rails. Discord shows avatar-and-name rows with "Today at" times, reply lines and reaction chips. X DMs use blue bubbles with times under each group. Google Messages switches between RCS and SMS styles. Tinder opens with the "You matched" card. Each app has its own header icons and message bar.
Change any chat to a group chat, give it a name and photo, and add as many members as you like, each with a name colour and photo. Every message can be one of seven types: text, photo with caption, voice note with duration, voice or video call (missed or answered), sticker (a big emoji), centred divider ("Yesterday", "You blocked this contact") or deleted message. On any message you can add a reply quote, reactions, an "Edited" or "Forwarded" label, and a delivery status. Messages with only one to three emoji are shown large without a bubble, as real apps do, and links are highlighted.
Typing-Animation Videos and GIFs for TikTok, Reels and Shorts
The typing video plays the conversation one message at a time. The other person's typing dots appear before each reply, and your own text can fill the message bar before it sends. It records at up to 1080 pixels wide as MP4 where the browser supports it (WebM otherwise). A typing GIF and a scrolling GIF, which pans from the first message to the last, are also available. Set the speed from 0.5× to 2.5×, and choose a 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 or 16:9 canvas so the phone is already framed for the platform.
Choose an iPhone with Dynamic Island or an Android phone with a punch-hole camera, or turn the frame off for a plain screenshot. With the frame off, a 3× iPhone export is 1170 × 2532 pixels, the same size as a real iPhone 15 screenshot. You can set the clock, battery level, battery percentage, charging bolt, signal bars, Wi-Fi or 5G/LTE/4G, and carrier text. You can also show the iOS keyboard or Gboard with half-typed text, change the wallpaper to a preset, your own photo or a dimmed image, pick your own bubble colour, change the text size, and use Long screenshot to fit the whole conversation on one image.
Faster Editing: Templates, Scripts, Undo and Autosave
Start from one of eight templates or paste a whole script. Write "Me: hi" and "Sophie: hello" on separate lines. Any new name adds a contact, two names make a group, "--- Today ---" adds a divider and "[9:41 AM]" sets a time. Click any bubble in the preview to open it in the editor. You can drag rows to reorder them, duplicate or insert messages, change who sent a message, set every message's status at once, or swap sides. Undo and redo work with Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y, your chat autosaves in the browser, and you can save or open a .json project file.
How to Tell if a Chat Screenshot Is Fake
Knowing how these screenshots are made helps you spot them. Check that the status-bar clock is later than the times in the chat and that the receipts match the app. Instagram never shows ticks, and iMessage only shows "Read" under your latest message. Fonts, bubble corners and icons should match the phone shown. Look for text that sits slightly off-centre in a bubble, suspiciously sharp edges on a supposedly old screenshot, or heavier compression around the messages than around the status bar. When it matters, ask the person to show the conversation on their own phone. This tool is for parody, mock-ups, stories and education, never for deceiving, harassing or defrauding anyone.

Can I make a fake text message video for TikTok or Reels?
Yes. Typing video plays the chat one message at a time. Typing dots appear before each reply, and your text can fill the message bar before it sends. It records up to 1080 px wide as MP4 where the browser supports it, otherwise WebM. Choose the 9:16 canvas so it fits TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
Can I export the chat as an animated GIF?
Yes. There are two GIFs. The typing GIF plays messages one by one, and the scrolling GIF pans from the first message to the last. Both are made in your browser at 1× to keep file sizes small.
Can I make a fake group chat?
Yes. Switch the chat type to Group, name the group, add a group photo and as many members as you need, each with a name colour and photo. Each app shows sender names and avatars its own way. For example, WhatsApp puts coloured names inside the bubble and iMessage puts names above it.
Can I create a fake iMessage conversation with blue and green bubbles?
Yes. Choose iMessage for blue bubbles or SMS for green ones. SMS also changes the field to "Text Message" and shows "Delivered" instead of "Read". Tails, tapbacks, reply quotes, "Edited" labels and centred time labels follow iOS.
Can I control WhatsApp ticks and read receipts?
Yes. Every message you send can be set to sending (clock), sent (one grey tick), delivered (two grey ticks) or read (two blue ticks), one at a time or all at once. Other apps show their own receipts, such as "Seen" on Instagram, the seen avatar on Messenger, and "Read" on Google Messages.
What kinds of messages can I add?
Text, photos with captions, voice notes with a waveform and duration, voice or video calls (missed or answered), big emoji stickers, centred dividers such as "Yesterday", and deleted messages. Any message can also have a reply quote, reactions, and an Edited or Forwarded label.
Can I paste a whole conversation at once?
Yes. Open Script and write one message per line, like "Me: hi" and "Sophie: hello". New names become contacts (two or more make a group), "--- Today ---" adds a divider and "[9:41 AM]" at the start of a line sets its time. You can also copy the current chat back out as a script.
Can I edit each message individually?
Yes. Click any bubble in the preview, or its row in the editor, to change its text, sender, type, time, status, reply, reactions and labels. You can drag rows to reorder them, duplicate or insert messages, and undo or redo any change with Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y.
Can I show the keyboard or a half-typed message?
Yes. Type text for the message bar and turn on the iOS keyboard (iPhone) or Gboard (Android). The send button appears just like it does in the real app.
How do I make it look like a real phone screenshot?
Turn off the phone frame and set the background to transparent. A 3× iPhone export is then 1170 × 2532 pixels, the same as an iPhone 15 screenshot. Set a realistic clock, battery and signal, and keep the times in the chat earlier than the status-bar clock.
Can I change the wallpaper and bubble colour?
Yes. Choose the app's own wallpaper, a plain colour, one of seven gradients, the doodle pattern, or your own photo with an optional dimming overlay. Bubble-style apps also let you pick any colour for your bubbles, and you can change the text size.
Can I make a long screenshot of the whole conversation?
Yes. Turn on Long screenshot and the phone grows to fit every message, so one image shows the entire chat. With it off, the newest messages stay at the bottom like a real app, and the scroll slider shows older ones.
Is my chat saved?
Your chat autosaves in your browser, so it is still there when you come back. You can also save a .json project file and open it later on any device. Nothing is sent to a server.
Is there a watermark or signup?
No. The generator is free, needs no account and adds no watermark, including on video and GIF exports.
Is it safe, and where do my images go?
Everything runs in your browser. Messages, avatars and photos are never uploaded or logged, and every image, GIF and video export is created on your device.
