How WPM is calculated
Words per minute uses a standard five-characters-per-word measure, so 'net WPM' accounts for errors while 'raw WPM' counts everything you typed. Seeing both tells you whether to push for speed or focus on accuracy.
A test built for developers
Most typing tests use ordinary prose, which doesn't reflect coding. The code mode has you type real snippets full of symbols, brackets, and indentation — the characters that actually slow programmers down — so your score reflects real-world coding speed.
Improving with the heatmap
You can't fix what you can't see. The per-key error heatmap reveals exactly which keys you fumble, turning vague 'I'm slow' into a targeted practice list. Drilling your worst keys is the fastest route to a higher, more accurate score.
