Why clothing sizes are not universal
A 'size 8' in the US, UK, EU, France, Italy, Japan, and Australia can mean six different bodies. The numbers are brand- and country-specific labels, not measurements, which is why the same person can be a US 8, UK 12, EU 40, and JP 11. This calculator treats measurements as the source of truth and maps them onto each region's scale, so you shop by centimetres and inches rather than by a number that means something different everywhere.
How bra sizing actually works
Bra size is two numbers: the band (the underbust, rounded to the nearest even number in most systems) and the cup (the difference between bust and underbust). Each extra 2.5 cm / 1 inch of difference moves up one cup letter. The converter also shows sister sizes — bands and cups that hold the same breast volume (for example 34B, 32C, and 36A) — so you can find a better fit when your usual band runs tight or loose.
A printable size guide you can trust
The most reliable size is the one measured on your body, not the one on a tag. Measure bust, waist, and hip for clothing; underbust and bust for bras; and foot length for shoes. Keep the reference table below handy: it lists the common conversions in one place so the next purchase is based on numbers, not hope.
