## About

### Advancement types in Minecraft

Since Java Edition 1.12, achievements are called advancements, and the pop-up in the top-right corner shows one of three headers depending on the advancement's frame. Most are normal tasks. Goals are long-term targets, and challenges are the hardest ones, shown with a purple header and a sound effect. Before 1.12, and in older Bedrock versions, the pop-up said Achievement get! instead.

| Frame | Header text | Header colour | Chat message |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Task | Advancement Made! | Yellow | has made the advancement [ ] (green) |
| Goal | Goal Reached! | Yellow | has reached the goal [ ] (green) |
| Challenge | Challenge Complete! | Purple | has completed the challenge [ ] (purple) |
| Classic | Achievement get! | Yellow | has just earned the achievement [ ] |

### Minecraft colour and formatting codes

Type § or & followed by a code to change the colour or style of the text after it, just like in signs, books and server messages. Colour codes reset formatting, and §r resets everything. For example, &6&lLegendary&r Find makes 'Legendary' gold and bold.

| Code | Effect | Code | Effect |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| §0 | Black | §8 | Dark gray |
| §1 | Dark blue | §9 | Blue |
| §2 | Dark green | §a | Green |
| §3 | Dark aqua | §b | Aqua |
| §4 | Dark red | §c | Red |
| §5 | Dark purple | §d | Light purple |
| §6 | Gold | §e | Yellow |
| §7 | Gray | §f | White |
| §l | Bold | §o | Italic |
| §n | Underline | §m | Strikethrough |
| §k | Obfuscated (magic) | §r | Reset |

### Ideas for custom achievements

The format works best when it sounds like the game: a short, punchy title and a dry description. Real-life milestones are popular, like Touched Grass, Survived Monday or Homework Done, and so are server events such as First to the End. Use the Random idea button for a starting point, then change the icon to match. Stack three achievements for a 'speedrun of my day' meme.

### Using the image in videos and streams

Download at 4x or higher for 1080p video and 8x for 4K. Keep the background transparent for thumbnails and image editors. For video, export the animated version: it slides in from the right like the real toast, holds, and slides out. Videos can't be transparent, so it uses a green screen you can key out in OBS, CapCut or Premiere.

## FAQ

### How do I make a custom Minecraft achievement?

Type your title, choose a style and an icon, then download the PNG. The image is drawn in a pixel font at Minecraft toast proportions, ready for thumbnails, memes or chats.

### What's the difference between Advancement Made, Goal Reached and Challenge Complete?

They are the three advancement frames in Java Edition. Most advancements are tasks (Advancement Made!), long-term ones are goals (Goal Reached!), and the hardest are challenges (Challenge Complete!), which use a purple header.

### Can I make an animated Minecraft achievement?

Yes. Click Animated video to download a WebM where the toast slides in, holds and slides out like in game. It uses a green screen background you can key out in your video editor.

### How do I use colour codes?

Type § or & followed by a code, such as &c for red or &l for bold, or click a colour swatch to insert it at the cursor. &k makes animated 'magic' text and &r resets.

### Can I use my own icon?

Yes. Upload any image and it is shrunk to a 16 × 16 pixel tile so it matches the pixel-art style.

### Can I download it with a transparent background?

Yes. The Transparent background is selected by default, so the PNG has no background around the toast.

### Does this add achievements to my game?

No. It makes an image of an achievement pop-up. To add real advancements to a world or server you need a data pack.

### Is this an official Minecraft tool?

No. It is an independent fan tool and isn't affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft. It uses its own pixel font and hand-drawn icons rather than game assets.
